Principals Australia Institute (PAI) employees come from diverse backgrounds, have a range of applicable qualifications and are located in various offices around the country.
Project staff are passionate about education, adult learning and school communities and have extensive experience working with schools and enhancing student outcomes.  
The Executive Team leads the work of PAI, and consists of the following:
Paul Geyer

Paul joined Principals Australia Institute as the CEO in early 2016 after having been State Manager for the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). His previous roles include three start-ups: CEO, Australian Practice Nurses Association; CEO, Central Bayside Division of General Practice; and General Manager Australia, Intrahealth.
Paul’s director experience includes roles with Australian Medicare Local Alliance, Australian General Practice Network, Merri Community Health and Crisis Support Services. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
His educational qualifications include:

Gino De Gennaro

Gino De Gennaro

Chief Operations Officer / Deputy CEO

Gino is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Principals Australia Institute, leading the corporate team.  He joined PAI in June 2014.

Prior to this, Gino was employed for a total of 38 years in the South Australian Public Sector, with 24 years in executive roles.  Joining the SA Department for Education and Child Development in 2002, he was Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer from 2006, and was the Acting Chief Executive from 2010 to 2011.  During his time in the education department Gino was Chair of the Early Childhood Development Working Group from April 2011 to September 2013. This was a national committee advising the Ministerial Council on strategies to implement the National Early Childhood Development Strategy as agreed by COAG in 2009.

Gino was also Chair of the State Procurement Board in SA (a State statutory corporation) from 2006 to 2013, reforming government procurement.

Prior to joining the state education department, Gino had been a senior executive for 12 years in the South Australian Department of Treasury and Finance. For the two years to 2002 he was Deputy Under-Treasurer and led the Finance Division, covering Finance (State Budget), Policy Analysis, and Microeconomic Reform and Infrastructure.   Another key role Gino undertook in Treasury was Executive Director, Electricity Reform and Sales Unit from 1998 to 2000.
Gianna Ferrara

General Manager, Marketing and Brand

Gianna is the General Manager Marketing and Brand and joined PAI in May 2016. Prior to this she was the Director, Marketing and Strategic Relationships at Novita Children’s Services, where she led the growth in marketing, communications and fundraising strategies for the organisation.
A strategic marketer with extensive experience in all areas of  marketing, communications and stakeholder engagement, Gianna has worked in large corporate organisations such as Telstra, ANZ and Australia Post, and RDNS SA. She spent 13 years in Melbourne and previously ran the Telstra Business Women’s Awards and Telstra Business Awards during their early growth years, and has experience in private wealth management, trusts and foundations during her time at ANZ.
She is a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute (FAMI) and Certified Practising Marketer (CPM), and was a member of AMI SA State Advisory Committee from 2011 – 2016. Gianna was also a member of the ANZ Rob Guest Endowment Committee (2008 – 2013), which supports up and coming musical theatre performers. Gianna was on the Board of Carols by Candlelight SA (Inc) for two years (2013 – 2014). She was a national judge of the AMI Marketing Awards for Excellence in 2014 and 2016.
Gianna holds the following qualifications: Bachelor of Arts, Diploma in Education, Graduate Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Commerce in Management and Marketing from the University of Adelaide and a Graduate Diploma in Marketing from RMIT University.


Julie Stenklev

General Manager, Human Resources

Specialising in the strategic development and delivery of the organisation’s human resources strategy, Julie Stenklev brings with her over 25 years of industry experience in not-for-profit, government funded and commercial business to Principals Australia Institute.  

She is a Certified Professional Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute. Julie’s extensive commercial experience and knowledge of contemporary Human Resources and Change Management practices has enabled her to work across various sectors, with major companies such as, Coca-Cola Amatil (Aus), EDS, Southcorp Wines, Omega Senior Care Group and Interwork WISE Employment.

She is also a passionate supporter of her local community evidenced by her extensive volunteer commitment across local schools and sporting clubs as well as service organisations.
